The Sustainable Energy Planning Research Group at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark, conducts research on the integration of renewable energy, energy scenarios at regional, national, and international levels, as well as socio-economic modelling of energy efficiency and savings in buildings, industry, and transport.
In iDesignRES, AAU models district heating networks, including waste heat sources. AAU designs test cases and develops new scenarios for long-term decarbonisation to support the clean energy transition. This also involves the development of the EnergyPLAN model to include all relevant technologies and networks.
