In June 2026, iDesignRES partners will meet for a joint North Sea Workshop and Modellers Meeting, combining stakeholder engagement with technical discussions on modelling developments related to the North Sea case study.
The event will bring together project partners, modellers and selected stakeholders to review progress and discuss the application of iDesignRES tools to support energy transition planning in the North Sea region.
The workshop will contribute to the testing and validation of the modelling framework and provide an opportunity to exchange feedback on assumptions, datasets and preliminary results.
Alongside the stakeholder sessions, the second iDesignRES Modellers Meeting will focus on coordination between modelling teams and further development of the project’s modelling tools.
The North Sea Workshop will focus on:
- Discussion of modelling assumptions and scenario design
- Exchange with stakeholders on regional energy transition challenges
- Exploration of how iDesignRES tools can support planning and analysis.
The Modellers Meeting will focus on:
- Progress updates on modelling activities
- Coordination across work packages
- Further development of scenarios and case study analyses.
