iDesignRES participated in the Energy Vision Scenarios Workshop during the NTNU Transition Week 2025!
On April 1st, 2025, iDesignRES participated in the Energy Vision Scenarios Workshop held at NTNU in Trondheim, as part of the NTNU Energy Transition Week 2025.
The workshop brought together international experts to explore the major challenges and opportunities shaping the future of global energy systems, including:
- The influence of protectionism vs. collaboration in global energy markets,
- Financing mechanisms for the energy transition,
- Strategies for building resilient energy systems under increasing climate impacts.
During this event, iDesignRES shared the Energy Vision Scenarios developed within the project, contributing to the broader discussion on designing smarter, more resilient, and sustainable energy systems across Europe.
Participation in this workshop provided valuable opportunities to present the outcomes of iDesignRES to a diverse group of experts and stakeholders, and to gather insights into:
- How geopolitical trends are reshaping energy transition pathways,
- Innovative approaches for integrating renewables in electrified energy systems,
- Financing strategies aligned with the objectives of COP29,
- Strengthening resilience in energy planning under conditions of uncertainty and extreme climate events.
The engagement at the workshop reinforced the relevance and robustness of the iDesignRES Energy Vision Scenarios and underlined the project’s strong alignment with current discussions on Europe’s sustainable energy future.
iDesignRES remains committed to supporting the European energy transition by providing tools, models, and scenarios that foster smart, resilient, and sustainable energy system designs.
