The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is an international scientific institute that conducts policy-oriented, interdisciplinary research on international relevant topics in cross-academic contexts, such as climate change. IIASA is an independent institute with the mission to provide insights and guidance to policymakers worldwide by finding solutions to global and universal problems through applied systems analysis in order to improve human and social wellbeing and protect the environment. The institute concentrates its research efforts within three core global problem areas: (1) Energy and Climate Change; (2) Food and Water; (3) Poverty and Equity.
IIASA is hosting numerous databases and web applications related to climate change mitigation and the energy transition modeling towards carbon neutrality. In this capacity, IIASA will contribute to iDesignRES by providing database infrastructure and open-source scientific software for scenario analysis and dissemination.
